WHAT’S ON THE MINDS OF AMERICA’S YOUTH
The youth of today isn’t really bothered with what’s going on these days in America. Today, younger Americans are just worried about television, cell phones, other technology devices, and their love world. Over 40 years ago, young people across the country staged sit-ins for civil rights and got up to protest against the Vietnam War. In today’s world, America is once again involved in wars on the other side of the world, and the world continues to see violence. Youth these days compared to youth 40 years ago are very lazy. They think that all the hard things in life are done for them. A lot has changed, they don’t care anymore. The majority of young people sit at home on their phones or other technology. I think that if we had motivating factors such as a military draft then we would come together and get angry and start to care. Young people think that the hard things in life will get done for them. They think that they live in a world where it’s okay to slack off for their whole youth then automatically straighten when the adult ages come. Young people don’t realize but they are messing up their life. They think partying, smoking, drinking, being lazy, on the phone 24/7 is cool. They don’t care about the real important things in life. For instance; war, crimes, violence, and the president. We live in a generation where young people are just lazy. I think that the parents have a huge role in this lack of care in young people. Parents should have enough respect for the world and their kids life to set them on the right path. Make them cut down on hours they spend on social media, make them go outside every day for a couple hours. I also think that youth should be involved in the world. Play sport or maybe join a clean-up team. Since I am a young person myself, I can say that I’m scared for my future. I say this because when this generation of young people grows up to be adults and still are the way they are now, and then we are going to have ten times the violence, ten times the crimes, and ten times the wars from other countries. Please American youth grow up and take responsibility.
